French Fries, Belgian or French?

Then again, Welcome to this blog, Today's topic it's gonna be about a cultural topic, All over the years there's been an ongoing dispute beetween French people and Belgian people over "French Fries" Who invented 'em? Well, Firstable, From the Belgian standpoint the popularity of the term "French fries" is explained as a "French gastronomic hegemony" Or a cultural mistake from the americans, Since in the U.K They are only called "Fries" Yet some people believe that the term "French fries" for deep fried potato batons was introduced when American soldiers arrived in Belgium during WW1, The Americans supposedly took them to be French fried potatoes because they believed themselves to be in France, French being the local language and the official language of the Belgian Army at that time, Since then the term has become huge and popular all around the world spreading ignorance and misinformation, French cusine is way different from Fries, This reminds me, of some other cultural Issue, Beetwen our country and our neighbor Honduras over where are "Pupusas" From, they even went to court for this manner! Obviously, El Salvador won this match, Even though, some Hondura's people still claim their people invented Pupusas, This is something beside the topic, But worth mentioning, In conclusion, Fries are from Belgium, As Pizza are from Italy, but who wouldn't want to be awarded for inventing such a revolutionary food, and one of the most consumed all over the world.
